Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We neither retain nor log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email messages are retained as needed to prepare a response. They remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive limited technical information about that visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that usage data for measurement. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the service behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted query to the selected partner service
- Maintain reliable operation and page performance
- Identify useful pages and areas that need improvement
- Diagnose and correct technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
No database of court dockets or personal case information is hosted, maintained, compiled, or sold here. The published material explains where Rawlins County records are kept and how to approach the clerk, trial court, or statewide search system. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is never assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy, including that company's retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court clerks, trial-court portals, statewide search services, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy terms govern. Review them before disclosing personal information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards protect collected data. No internet service can promise perfect security, however, and a breach-free system cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Notice that a minor supplied data will prompt a deletion review.
Your Data Rights
The Kansas Open Records Act request process and Supreme Court Rule 22 govern official court custodians and electronic court access, not information held by this private resource. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer law, a visitor may request the following:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any new version will be posted here with an updated effective date, so visitors can review current data practices.
